About This Finish

Honed Stone Finish — Smooth Matte Elegance

The honed finish is created by grinding the stone surface with progressively finer diamond abrasives, stopping short of the high-gloss buffer step. The result is a smooth, satiny matte surface without light reflectivity. Honed surfaces are widely specified by interior architects for modern residential and commercial flooring, as they are far less prone to showing scuffs, scratches, and water spots than polished stone.

A honed finish is a smooth, flat surface with a soft satin-matte sheen created by abrasive grinding without final mirror polishing.

Honed marble is less slippery and far better at concealing scratches, etch marks, and high-traffic foot wear, making it a favorite for floors.
