Because the stone is semi-translucent, LED panels are mounted behind a thin slab (typically 10–15 mm) on an acrylic or glass support frame. The light passes through the stone, making its amber and honey banding glow — ideal for bars, reception desks and feature walls.

Onyx is a softer, more delicate stone (around Mohs 3) and is prone to scratching and acid etching. We recommend it for vanity tops, bar fronts and feature walls rather than high-use kitchen worktops.

Both are soft, translucent calcium-based stones with warm banding, and the trade often uses the names interchangeably. We supply material from Iran and Pakistan selected specifically for its even honey colour and backlighting quality.
